How to switch tariff (Black Friday deal)

Hi - I am currently on a contract for 12GB which costs £24 a month. Quite expensive, as I haven't been trying to negotiate or anything like that. Recently saw the £10 for 10GB 18 month contract for Black Friday ending 02/12/20, and I'd like to switch to that. However, when I click switch tariff on the MyO2 app, it only offers deals more expensive than my current one that are all very poor value. And when I go to the new tariff and try to buy it there is no mention of switching, only ordering the new sim through the post. Is there an easier way of switching tariff other than cancelling my current one and ordering this new one? I would prefer not to go without my service for some time.

Thanks for the help.

@Callum1

You need to follow the upgrade option in your MyO2.

It will let you choose any of the current tariffs and give you the fee to cancel the current one if applicable.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Is that really the only option? One of the tariffs I can "upgrade" to is 4GB of data for over £20, which is honestly insulting. I've had this tariff for over 4 years and long paid off the phone plan so I see no reason why I wouldn't be able to take this offer, seems like the best course of action is definitely to cancel and see if I can negotiate something. It's unfortunate how badly companies like O2 treat loyal customers. Thanks for the help regardless.

UPGRADE, not tariff change.

Oops, sorry about that! Upgrade just makes me think of a new phone rather than sim. Thank you very much!
