The following method will work on any O2 mobile and means you can control the time interval before a call goes to Voicemail.

Enter the following into your keypad as though you were just making a call :

**61*901*11*30# then simply press 'call'.

please note 30 is the time in seconds before voicemail kicks in and can be set in increments of 5 ie. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 to a maximum of 30 seconds. (also see video)

Alternatively you can switch voicemail off completely by calling 1760 from your mobile when you know you will be available to answer calls. Switch on again when needed by calling 1750.

More info on Voicemail here : Using Voicemail | Support | O2

Just a tip : To avoid charges when travelling overseas switch off voicemail before you go as you cannot do so once you have left the UK

Have you tried the code ##002# which will cancel all existing diverts and then trying the ringtime code **61*901*11*25#

You appear to be suffering from the same error that O2 said they had fixed back in April.
As suggested, you need to call them I'm afraid to log the issue so it can be investigated.

I've just been on a lengthy call with Customer Services. The upshot was that they didn't know why it wasn't working for me and asked me to go into an O2 shop. 😕☹️

Very disappointing!

@Martin-O2 can you help out here please.
Issue was a technical network problem earlier in the year which seems to either still be effecting some people or has resurfaced.
Customer services doing the usual if the question is too difficult for them!
This needs to go to 2nd line support please.

Thanks to Martin and MI5, O2 technician sorted problem very quickly. The problem was caused by my account having WiFi calling enabled on my device (Nexus 6P) which is not a supported device. The technician removed the feature from my account and now all is working. There wouldn't have been a problem if my device was supported for WiFi calling.
Thanks again guys 😊
p.s....I'm being dumb, but how do I tag your I'd's in a post so that you are alerted? 🙄
