I have recently changed from PAYG to pay monthly... I received my new pay monthly SIM this morning, followed all the instructions, was informed by one of the Gurus that my phone would lose service and then I would have to swap SIMs over, also transferring my current number to new SIM... Within an hour my phone had lost service, so I swapped the SIM, restarted my phone and the service came back... But my number has not been transferred over and the phone number I want to keep is now saying it has been disconnected when you try to call it... How much longer will have I to wait until my number gets swapped over?

Yes you would be sent a code if doing it yourself. This is why you need to ring CS and speak to an advisor. There is a landline number in the link I gave earlier...

Good luck. Heaven knows what live chat have done with your number. I find it always best to call for something like this or any account issues.

It has been sorted now, thankfully!
O2 updated my details when changing from PAYG - pay monthly and made a typo in my email address so I wasn't receiving any emails to verify things and couldn't receive texts as they disconnected my number. They also failed to tell me it was a case of simply changing 'my number' in my phone back to my actual number and then resetting my phone (just told me to keep turning off/on) to sort this problem out.
Thank you all for your help!

We would have told you about that "feature" if you had said.
Apologies if I missed it.
