How much longer???

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have recently changed from PAYG to pay monthly... I received my new pay monthly SIM this morning, followed all the instructions, was informed by one of the Gurus that my phone would lose service and then I would have to swap SIMs over, also transferring my current number to new SIM... Within an hour my phone had lost service, so I swapped the SIM, restarted my phone and the service came back... But my number has not been transferred over and the phone number I want to keep is now saying it has been disconnected when you try to call it... How much longer will have I to wait until my number gets swapped over?

Wouldn't I need to receive a code sent to my phone number in order to swap it online myself? Like I said above, my number has been disconnected..

Yes you would be sent a code if doing it yourself. This is why you need to ring CS and speak to an advisor. There is a landline number in the link I gave earlier...

It's actually the keep my number form, not a sim swap you need so I suspect live chat have done it wrong

Good luck. Heaven knows what live chat have done with your number. I find it always best to call for something like this or any account issues.

I already spoke to someone around 5pm last night I was told my request was pending with CS and should be resolved within 24 hours... It's been 21 hours and still don't have my number back!

Live chat have completely screwed this simple task up for you.
Call CS again now and get it escalated but the last time I heard of this been done on the wrong form it took about 5 days to sort out.

It has been sorted now, thankfully!

O2 updated my details when changing from PAYG - pay monthly and made a typo in my email address so I wasn't receiving any emails to verify things and couldn't receive texts as they disconnected my number.  They also failed to tell me it was a case of simply changing 'my number' in my phone back to my actual number and then resetting my phone (just told me to keep turning off/on) to sort this problem out. Crazy

Thank you all for your help!

I assume it's an iPhone then?
We would have told you about that "feature" if you had said.
Apologies if I missed it.
