How do I prevent bolt on purchases?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have just upgraded my son's phone and contract, having previously had a two year 2gb data contract without any problems.  He now has a 5gb contract and imagine my shock when I received the first bill only to discover he has purchased an additional £40 worth of data, needless to say the phone has been confiscated!

I've searched help and found out that I cannot cap the data but is there a way of preventing the purchase of bolt-ons?

Ask CS to put a block on any tarrif changes or charges to mobile then change the password to your MyO2 for good measure.

Not unless you take away the card you use to pay the bill or change the card details in your myo2
