Good Morning Scojototo
Without evidence of what's been said and advised I'm afraid they may not do anything in your favour. I'm assuming you used the online Live Chat. You would of had the facility to mail the conversation to yourself at the time of that conversation.
They are non uk outsourced callcentres with limited capability.
You are past the cooling off period so I really do not think they will void your current running contract.
Have you thought about a refresh tariff ?
You could make your complaint official and if you want the link I can supply if for you.

No what my lawyer says anyway, if they can't supply the proof then will be a straight up void situation
Let us know what happens and the outcome when you engage your lawyers services.
You should have proof of your visit to the high-street store regarding your visit and set up procedures.
Take care.
