GiffGaff slammed, using a MVNO has its downfalls

MVNO's can promise you everything and at a cheap rate, but what do we really know about an MVNO??

well a MVNO is a Mobile Virtual Network operator that piggy backs off someone else i.e. Lebara uses Voda, tesco uses o2 etc. they buy a bundle of mins, texts off the network and space on masts then sells this onto their customers as a package,

so who can start a MVNO? any one can, even i could and call it JayJay superway... But what goes on behind the scenes?? well this is a small insight to Giffgaff customers and what customers are facing??

in short, sometimes its better to spend that extra quid a month and go to the network direct!

I was with Giff Gaff until June.

The extremly slow data speed's, dropped call's & poor signal made me go elsewhere after the honeymoon period.

I've gone over the Three, I've got 4G on Three at home & it's about to roll out for where I work soon if the network activity I spotted earlier in the week is a hint.

Giff Gaff are about to loose some customers anyway:

I haven't used a lot of data on giffgaff since the early days when it was all free (they didn't have the charging structure set up) but I have noticed a significant drop in 4G speeds recently on O2 - below 10Mbps download so the sooner the network backhaul is sorted out the better for all.

I used GiffGaff for a year and found it fine. I kept with it due to the amount of free credit I was getting per month in rewards. I estimate i only paid £4pm on a £12 tarrif.
