Hi
I am travelling in February for six months and was wondering if i could extend or freeze my contract.
I have seen from other posts that it is possible to put me on a price plan that changes your bill to a smaller amount per month. That will get rid of any cancellation fee and keep your number active.
Please advise...

When did you start this contract? as if after march 2012 all you can do is remove any boltons like insurance and data.
You cannot extend the date it finishes.

I believe the only people who can attach a freeze on a mobile phone contract are a member of the armed forces being deployed to a war zone.
You could sell the phone {if not on a refresh plan} and use the funds to help pay off the cancellation fee.
