So I have just been transferred by Virgin media to O2 haven't used the SIM yet only got it 3 days ago I have two queries.

I was told my bill would be £25 per month on the O2 side of things yet my first bill comes to more than that?

I was also told I'd keep my phone number yet it's given me a completely different one so I'm still using my virgin SIM currently until it gets automatically changed over? I don't know in all honesty how it all works.

Kind regards.

There are a couple of reasons the first bill could be higher than expected @Rictainment84 but the main one is that it covers more than 1 bill period.

For instance my bill this month covers 4 Feb to 3 March (line rental) plus charges from 4 Jan to 3rd Feb. My first bill probably covered a few days extra to get me into the "normal" billing cycle.

You can see what the charges are in your My o2 account - there is a guide to get you to the download bill page which will show you the period it covers.

Guide: How do I get to the 'Download Bill' page?

In terms of keeping your number, I am not sure how they are handling the transfers from Virgin to o2. Normally you would use a PAC to move your number over which also closes the old contract.

Your best bet is to contact o2 customer services, using social media, and ask them what is going on.
