DPA Breach

Hi all,

I recently visited an O2 store to upgrade my account, and when I got home I started getting what's app messages from the sales person who sold me my upgrade. Naturally, I blocked his number, but then when I went to check my account to see if anything had been fiddled about with, I noticed that a discount I had on my account had been removed the next day. I'm assuming it was the employee who removed it after being wounded by my rejection. I've made an official complaint to O2 via the complaint review service email address, I just wondered if anyone knows who else I can complain to about this, I find it totally unacceptable.

Thanks

Are you sure these texts weren't expecting you to send a link/text back... so the discount could be applied?

I would go back to the shop ho sold you the phone or ring customer Services to clarify what's happened

Edited to add the link about making a complaint..

As you have seen from the complaints page, if you don't get satisfaction from O2 you can then go to the Ombudsman who will judge the case

Bear in mind that any discount on an earlier contract would have been removed by the upgrade.

I'm not sure where you see a DPA breach.

The OP says they were whatsapp messages - I am sure O2 don't conduct business via this app.

Cleoriff, it was definitely a message from him. It was sent on what's app saying hi this is so and so from O2 I took your number etc.

When I spoke to customer services they said that the discount had been removed in a store with a note saying customer requested discount to be removed, and I definitely did not request that.

Perksie, the DPA breach being the O2 member of staff taking my number from the system and messaging me for his own personal use.

Also to clarify the discount was being added into the new contract, I never had one on the old one.

I hope you have kept the messages.  I would go into the store and ask to see the manager.

I've never heard of this before, wait until the complaint is replied to and go to the ombudsman if necessary.

You seem to have all the evidence that you need.

djbsuffolk I took screenshots of the messages and also of my call log showing the missed calls so they can't fob me off and tell me I'm lying.
I would go back into the store but it's not in my local town, I live in London & it was in Milton Keynes.
