Constantly being charged double for overseas SMS

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'm being constantly charged double by O2 for overseas texts under 160 characters. Even when I sent message "That's fine. See you later" O2 charges me twice for the same text. I complained before and they credited overcharged amount back but then it happened again. I went to O2 shop where guy confirmed it should have not happened and asked me to contact Customer service. Do I have to contact them every bloody time when I sent text overseas until they fix it and make it right?

On my Note 3 I have tried all 3 settings (gsm alphabet, unicode and automatic) and it makes no difference. All 3 settings do NOT convert my text to mms when using 😆😆. Will try my S4 in a while.

Well its all new to me Nick. I am not one that goes exploring through the 'inner sanctity' of  phone settings Confused

I set it up to what suits me and then I am good to go. So when new info is dropped into the learning pot I will try it.... if it suits me wink

It's worth noting that it's not just about smilies - you can do useful things like send SMS messages in Japanese too, (on my Note 3 you just enable Japanese in languages and input).

Also, not all smilies are equal.  When in unicode mode, the first plain smile one on my Note 3 uses a single unicode character.  Most of the others use two.

Ok. Back to my original topic. I do not sent graphic smiley, and in my O2 app it clearly says/charges for text message twice.

Then this is something you can only challenge with CS. 202 for Contract and 4445 for payg. Best of luck...:smileywink:
