Why is there no easy button to close an account?

How do I do this online?

My father recently pased away and I have spent 30-min looking around myO2 but there seems to be no simple way to close his account and they keep taking the monthly fee in the meantime

Thanks Kathryn Ledson

O2 have a dedicated bereavement team you can speak to by calling the general CS number (202 from an o2 mobile).
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I called the bereavement team when my friend passed away. The waiting time was up to an hour so I would suggest you ask customer service to put you through on 202.

Once you do get through to them they are fantastic people, full of empathy and understand of the trauma people go through. They really couldn't be any more helpful.
