I moved to Australia in February 2020 and have not used my o2 sim card to make calls/send texts since then. I'm happy to pay for the phone contract as I'm able to use that still but can I cancel the airtime plan as I'm not using this and haven't for months?

I've had no help from o2, live chat just ended before I even finished answering the security questions, it's so frustrating. Any help would be so much appreciated, thank you.

Hi @ammyyy92

No I'm afraid that wont be possible unless to pay off the device in full. You could then switch to a sim only if you wish

Guide: How does O2 Refresh work?

You could buy a local sim if the phone is unlocked, but you would still be liable for the full costs of the contract.

@ammyyy92

The airtime can be cancelled only after paying the device plan fully.

I assume you want to cancel with O2 completely?

If so, you can make one complete payment for the device, then leave, but you need to do it by calling customer service Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

You could downgrade plan to the lowest available or as above pay the device off & then cancel the sim.
