Calling/texting a number abroad from UK

My phone a Samsung Galaxy A10 will not allow me to call or text my friends abroad. I have only had the phone a few months and it is a nightmare. I also can't get mobile data which is why I bought it. Help please.

If you have a spend cap or other restrictions on your account it would prevent international calls and texts.

Hi Having had an answer to my previous query concerning texting/call abroad from the UK and the answer was I haven't got the required package on my phone. I now find I don't seem to be able to receive messages or calls from abroad either - help please is this correct? Unfortunately I'm with Think comms and can't find a phone number for them at present. Thanks
