An odd situation?

Anonymous

Morning all! It seems i've got myself in an odd pickle here!

In order to explain i'll (of course) start from the beginning

So about 1yr and 2 months ago i signed up to O2, i decided that i'd get a shiny new phone and my friend (who was looking for a good deal at the time) could have the sim card, and thus benefit from a good airtime package and i'd just use my GiffGaff sim in my new phone. Everything was fine and dandy, my friend paid me the airtime tarrif charges which then got paid to O2 each month. Perfect.

My friend then moved, and a few days ago decided they didnt want this sim anymore. No worries, i decided to clear the bill and upgrade early. Here is where the problem begins! During the upgrade i told O2 to send me a new sim. I thought this would save my friend having to fork out special delivery charges to send me the sim back. I then told my friend to cut up the old sim and chuck it as soon as my upgrade order was on its way. Which he has done.

So my new phone arrived yesterday, with the replacement sim. I decided to see if i could port my giffgaff number over to the new sim so i filled out the 'keep my number' form which asked me for my current number (i gave them the giffgaff one), my email, and the sim SSN number (I gave them the SSN of the new sim that came with the phone)

I awoke this morning to find the giffgaff sim has been de-activated, ok this is fine i think so i pop the new O2 sim in and see it also has no service!  It then dawns on me... This new sim was most likely blank, and i should have done a sim swap to swap the sim card my friend had, over to this new one, and THEN try and port my giffgaff number over...

So as it stands right now i simply have a phone with *NO SERVICE* written at the top...

Is there anything i can do? Im hoping the end result can be my O2 sim working, with my giffgaff number...

Thanks in advance for any info provided!
