Advice Needed For The Best Tariff Or Bolt On For Calls

My nan has one of those big buttoned easy phones and she wants to use it to call landlines.

We put her on the O2 Unlimited tariff with a Landline 100 bolt on, however she has used all of her allowance already after only 2 or 3 weeks.

I have tried to suggest to her doing a speed dial for mobile numbers as she gets unlimited calls to O2 numbers, however she definitely does not want to do that.

Can anyone suggest a tariff or bolt on which she could use? She is old and doesn't want to mess around calling mobiles as the numbers are too long for her, so she would like a tariff or bolt on for landline numbers only.

I did a livechat with O2 but they were not helpful - they simply said she will be charged for calls now that her bolt on allowance has been used up.

All suggestions would be most appreciated! slight_smile

I think I have given my nan a million options and she has said no to all of them - she is very stubborn!

She is old but good at remembering numbers, she knows her daughters and sisters landline numbers off by heart and even though they are in her phone, she types them in every time she calls.  She does not want to start to learn mobile numbers.

She is strange I know but I love her no matter how loopy she is slight_smile

Tesco Mobile - 750 minutes for £12.50 or 1,000 minutes for £15. One month contract. Doesn't matter if she doesn't use the texts or data.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

@gemma4the

Can she not use a good old fashioned telephone directory you write numbers in.

My mum used one that flipped open

If she's in a care home, who pays the phone bill? How would she know if it was Pay & Go or a one month contract?

Hi @gemz4the1 I know it's not O2 but threes latest payg offer is 3p per minute to landlines so if she was to use 200 minutes it would be £6 sounds like a bargain to me and that way your not paying for texts or data which she won't use

Hi Bambino

This is what I was saying but it appears payg is the only option.

Personally I don't see the difference between 30 day tariffs and payg but there you go

I see no difference either, particularly as texts and data aren't an issue.
