Account cancellation and PAC

Anonymous

Hi all,

Since this is for customers only, I would like to ask if you have experience with cancelling the account and getting the PAC number right in time before the contract is being cancelled?

I have read a bit and do understand I need to cancel 30 days before, however when ever I try to contact customer service on 202, I am being held in a 30min.+ queue which is very annoying. When filling out the online ask question form, the site gives me an error too.

1. Question: How soon can I order the PAC to switch to my new provider?

2. Question: When cancelling the contract, are 30 days enough or what else do I need to do?

Many thanks. I just had a tariff comparison yesterday and some other providers offer much more for less money on a monthly payment contract.

Hi,

Sorry to hear your wanting to leave.

You can request your PAC Code via Live Chat http://www.o2.co.uk/mobile/contactus

Help Link on PAC Codes.

http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/Obtaining-a-PAC-Code-from-the-O2-Network/m-p/54427...

Couple of tips ;

Get your phone unlocked free to all networks here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

Obtain some payg sims from the Networks your interested in and use them for a week or so where you live, commute and work just to ensure the signal is stable. Its not much use having a better monthly deal with broken service.

You can order a PAC whenever you like once you use it that gives O2 the 30 days notice and cancels your contract

Thank you very much for the response. Appreciate it.

I am happy with O2, don't get me wrong. I am just going with some cheaper rates but stay within O2 network reach.

Many thanks again.

Once the minumum period has expired you can give 30 days notice at any time.

Hi slightly concerned reading this, since I have just spent1.5 hrs on live chat trying to terminate my 2year contract which expires on Dec.15th. The individual I was "chatting" with kept trying to give me a payg sim card and generally missing the point. A t the very end he gave me my"pac" and said I did not have to give 30 days notice and could change on the 15th. I have had a few bad experiences with o2 chat, and now I am doubting his competence in saying this. I have a record of the conversation; is there any more grief waiting for me re. a final bill after the 15th, or will it be a clean break?  (please god,i have had enough already!)

Thnx all.

Use the PAC before the 15th and this will generate your final bill.
