I would just like to thank O2 for spoiling at least a day of my holidays. Despite having used 901 from a number of countries in the past the system decided that my number was not permitted to use the service. 6 calls and 2 hours of stress later the only progress was that the pin number previuosly used was rejected. As soon as I get back to the UK I will be seeking another provider

The issue was that my mobile had linked with WIND GR network which appears not to support O2. The next day it switched to Cosmote which does and everything worked. It is a shame that it was beyond the wit of any of the O2 'help' staff to think of this!

Hi @chris8238
Have you tried switching voicemail off 1760 and back on again 1750?

http://www.o2.co.uk/help/bills-and-payment/calling-texting-and-data-usage-abroad#qs
"When abroad, just call 901 as usual. This will work in most countries but where it doesn't, call 1780 free from your mobile, or +447802 090 100, and we'll send you a text with the correct number to call for voicemail.
Depending on which country you're in, you'll either go straight to your messages or you'll go to your voicemail greeting. If it's your voicemail greeting, press * and enter your PIN"

Glad you sorted it in the end, thought you had tried manual network selection.
