Hello
I have an o2 PAYG sim card, I pay £10 every month for unlimited texts, unlimited calls and 6B of DATA which rolls over every month it's not used (currently on 7GB)
My mobile is an old Sony Xperia L1 (2017) 2GB RAM Quad-Core
I used to be able to send reasonably long texts and very rarely MMS picture messages, now I was on the understanding that your DATA connection would be used for MMS (a long text, or pictures inside a text) its a simple solution, all this worked fine until a few months back it stopped me sending LONG TEXTS only (as i don't send picture messages, I use Signal Messenger for that)
but advertising as UNLIMITED TEXTS when it isn't is an absolute lie and OFCOM wouldn't be to pleased to hear of these shenanigans, and in none of that time did i get a text saying YOU ARE NOW GOING TO BE CHARGED FOR MMS OR LONG TEXTS (over 100 characters or whatever your limit is)
can somebody help me with this issue, i called today - the freephone number 202 is DEAD AND IS ON YOUR WEBSITE FOR FREE CALLS, so i had to use the costly 0344 809 0202 number - who was useless and could not hear them over in India!! even on loudspeaker - I'm sure o2 tell them to put their headsets on the desks and just wind up customers - over 40 minutes there was no resolve and 30 minutes to spell everything i collated to her!!

MMS have always been chargeable and it's the same for all networks.
OFCOM wouldn't care less as there are T&C's which cover exactly what is and isn't included in unlimited aspects of use.
You can add a bolt on if you wish to send MMS messages at reduced rates but no one hardly does these days as there as so many free ways to do it.
MMS, which uses a very old data system, is not compatible with modern data networks and as such can never be integrated with your data allowance.
