Sim only tariff change

Last summer, I was notified my tariff was changing (without my agreement), basically because it was old and not making O2 enough money.  The tariff I'm on is a bit rubbish - I'm paying £15 per month for 1GB of data, whereas I can see that I can get a SIM only 10GB for £10 now (

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go#simtype=phone+rolling-plan)

.  How do I go about changing to that? It's not an option I'm offered when I click "change tariff", O2 customer services  hung up on me and the virtual chat is completely useless.  I don't want to lose my number but I'm wondering if I'd do better to just get a PAC code and go elsewhere?!

@Axe

You don't do a sim swap as that will just transfer your existing tariff to the new sim.

You need the new sim with the tariff you want then you need to call O2 to migrate your number as in the guide posted above.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thank you for that @Bambino ... the only option that wasn't listed was PAYG to PAYG ... any idea how that might work?

@Axe I believe you would need to get your new sim and do a swap: SIM Swap: a mini guide (incl eSim) - O2 Community

If you're not comfortable doing the swap yourself, call into an O2 store and they will do it for you while you're there.
