@Bamboccio According to this link esims are not available on Pay & Go: eSIMs: How to get and set up an eSIM
You may have to look at GiffGaff to see if they provide it: How do I get an eSIM on giffgaff? | giffgaff Help

Yep, not available on O2 PAYG. If O2's signal is good for you then giffgaff as suggested. Some other networks do eSIMs on 30 day contracts. Voxi (Vodafone) and Spusu (EE) come to mind.

Thank you to all. I would like to stay with O2. Would the essential £10 work on eSIM?

Thank you! I would like to use one of those packages but when I try to say that I am already a customer it says that I have no plans. I wonder if it would be easy to transfer the number. Should I first signup and then move the number or just go to a shop?
Thanks!

You'll be a new customer as your old tariff is PAYG.

I would go into a store, as they will be able to help you a lot better, the downside is you wont get the uswitch deals..
or port out and get better deals with giffgaff or other esim networks such as Spusu, Slice Mobile or Mozillion...
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

Thank you to all. I added the uswitch deal to the cart and then left it there. I went to the shop and asked for the £8 deal and they declined but when we started the process they found it in the cart and honoured it. Now the number is being moved from the new sim that I was given before I can get the eSIM.
Does anyone know how long the move will take?
many thanks!
