Old phone broke so had to get new, my SIM card wouldn't fit in so needed to get a new one. So new sim has come and put it in my phone and I just get nothing, no signal at all. Go on phone book and it's got the o2 top up line and stuff so must be registering the SIM card. Any ideas?

@Peterm

You need to do a sim swap from your old sim to activate the new one Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update assuming you want to keep your number?

If not, just top up the new sim to activate it Guide How to Top Up (PAYG)

Can't do a sim swap as the old sim now has no signal, try ringing the number and it just does nothing, can't top up as it has no network coverage. Tried to top up online and it want to send a text to my phone yet I can't receive texts. Never had this problem before

If the old sim has turned off they may have swapped your number to the new sim, so just buy a voucher to do the first top up.

But do you not need signal in order to use the voucher? Isn't it the same as the top up line which I can't ring?

Yes you do but there's a problem if you can't call 4444

Maybe they put a bar on the new sim, but I can't imagine why they would.

I'll have to ask @O2Lisa to check in the morning for you.
