My parents have an O2  mobile each but now that my father is in a care home, he doesnt need the phone any more.

There is credit on his phone and I would like to transfer the credit balance from his phone to my mothers O2 phone

Their phones are all registered to the same O2 account which is my O2 account.

Can I transfer credit from one O2 mobile to another ?

Thanks

Hi @A_Brit_Abroad

Yes you can but you need O2 to do it for you.

You can call them on any of the numbers in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

0800 587 4005 is the best one to try currently.

Thanks - I rang the number and a helpful young lady went through the process but it failed at the last hurdle as they tell me one cannot transfer credit off a phone if the line has been in use for more than 28 days.

Its been in use for 20 years so all they could offer was to use up the credit on call.

But thanks for the steer.

Unless that's a recent change it's complete rubbish.

The only stipulation is that the account must be closed to transfer the credit.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Just about to say the same! Ridiculous.

Try again @A_Brit_Abroad  and get someone who knows what they are talking about.
