Merging two different PAYG accounts

I have two different PAYG accounts with O2, which I would like to merge into one. Hence, I effectively want one of my SIM cards cancelling, but before it is cancelled, I would like the credit thereon to be moved onto my other SIM. I am aware that I will lose the 'phone number of the cancelled SIM.

A search of this forum suggests that this is possible, but I have contacted Customer Services about this on several occasions and have never found an advisor who was aware of the process to follow in order to execute my wishes. I guess that it is not a question that is asked too frequently !

Is anyone aware please as to whether there is a particular team that I need passing to in order to resolve this matter ?

@Oxonian The Pay & Go customer service number is 4445, and according to this very old post it should be easy to do: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly/Moving-credit-to-another-O2-number/m-p/1011736#M118997

I'm puzzled as to why the advisors you've spoken to don't understand. Seems a pretty simple process.

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 using the links below, they should be able to help you with this

I realise that it cannot be done from here ; will call 4445 tomorrow.

My previous efforts were via live chat, so hopefully 'phoning will be more successful.

Many thanks to you @jonsie and to @Bambino for your incredibly quick responses. 🤣

@Oxonian Live Chat is totally useless. Calling or using social media are much better options. If you have no luck, come back and I will tag an O2 online advisor. They're not available on Sundays.
