Hi, I moved out from Uk temporarily and want to keep the current O2 number with me. I took a new sim with top up for 10£ and now the new sim is active but my old is also active. As mentioned by O2 once the new sim is active old one will become inactive. The new sim has different number. Now how can I make sure that my old sim becomes inactive? And my new sim is active with my old number?

Appreciate your help.
Thanks

Sounds like you are moving from contract to PAYG, if so, you need to cancel the contract in order to migrate to the PAYG platform.

Your number can then be changed over and calling customer service is the best way to do this on 202 or +44 3448090202 free from abroad.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Hi, still working on it.

I tried calling from abroad. I didn’t get proper help.

Now my old sim and new sim both are active. But couldn’t do the swap to retain my old number.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks

Call 202 and tell them you want to cancel the contract and migrate your number to your payg sim card.
