Has enyone else encountered this devious 02 payment system

Anonymous
Not applicable

In activating auto topup for the £15 big bundle on 2nd September for renewal on the 3rd every month thereafter, i duly noticed that 02 had withdrawn £15 on the 2nd, and then proceeded to withdraw £15 on the 3rd.. i had been informed earlier that this was for card 'verfication' purposes... which is a load of utter rubbish... if any details on a card are incorrect, the trancastion will not go any further.. No.. this is quite simply for O2 to make that little bit more interest on your money in their account. The people that think up devious schemes like this are sick. Ah well . . they seem to forget there are other phone providers out there that we can go to

Sounds like another system glitch.
Have you called CS to see what they say?

I don't know and didn't know why O2 do this and I haven't heard of it happening to nyone else to be honest. I don't belive it for a minute that it's for card verification purposes. Personally I would complain....

A weird one...and yes really does sound like a system glitch. If it's happening again later today you should be ringing customer services on the number given above

Hopefully it won't be a daily occurrence @Cleoriff....
It sounds like the auto top up system recognised zero credit and topped up immediately, which is what it is supposed to do.
Having thought about it, do you really want it to auto top up credit in this way or just renew your bundle monthly?

It's a further suggestion to add to my PAYG top up options idea.

Yes it should be up to the customer to choose what he/she wants to do with the top up.

The option there is either auto top up or auto renew goodybag - same thing.
