I am on classic payg and now it says on o2 site i need to make a top up every 6 months.

Is this true or can a text be sent every month keep it active without switch off.

I would like a definite answer on this rather than a guess.
Thanks.

Hi @Mickmick

You need to make a chargeable call or text every 6 months and that will keep your sim active.

The O2 info shown is wrong annoyingly. They seem to want you tto top up when it's not needed.

Thanks. Have o2 confirmed that this is the case, has anyone asked them about this and got a confirmed answer that only chargeable activity is needed.
I only ask because i have £63 on my account and only use about £1 a month so don’t want to keep topping up £10 every 6 months and i also don’t want it just disconnecting and losing my £63.
Cheers.

@Mickmick

None taken......

Who from O2?

Live chat who don't know what day of the week it is?

UK customer service who are outsourced to Capita and generally couldn't give a damn.

Or long standing members of the community who have used O2 products for many years and have real life experience.?

The information @MI5 and @Cleoriff have outlined is correct. In addition to this, a top up is required once every 999 days

Thanks

@Mickmick

The info I gave you in my first post is correct. Some of us have worked for O2 in a previous guise and have been longstanding members of this forum.

Don't worry. I had a PAYG sim for years and know exactly how it worked. wink
