Hi,

Two quick questions, please:-

1>  Is it free to call 155 from abroad?
2> I read somewhere that in some countries one has to add some characters to the number for it to work, like * and so on.  I couldn't find the O2 page I read that information on.  Any idea?

Regards

No its not free to ring the International Operator, it will be upwards of £1.00 per minute, i know EE charge £1.54 per minute

And no you can't use 155 from outside the UK as its a UK specific number.

You would be best speaking to customer services, If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

What is 155 for?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Hello MI5,

BT: 155 is the international operator.  100 is the inland operator.

I was searching for making a reverse charge call from abroad, and found this:-

I'd just message the person and ask them to call me.

Would be much easier and cheaper for you.

True but in some cases, for example banks,  that option is not available.

Banks wouldn't accept a reverse charge call either....
