What do I need to do when I switch on my mobile phone on in the USA to phone home to the UK?

Will I incur any additional charges to set it up.

Any help will be appreciated

@David316 DO NOT use your O2 sim to call the UK from the US. Calls are charged at £2 per minute. Use WhatsApp or Skype over WiFi.

Yes agreed usr WhatsApp as it will use your data. Or Wi-Fi if you find a hotspot.
