What do I need to do when I switch on my mobile phone on in the USA to phone home to the UK?

Will I incur any additional charges to set it up.

Any help will be appreciated

I'd call customer service before you go to check all is setup correctly on your account Guide: How to find help & contact O2

Call, text and data charges can be found here http://international.o2.co.uk/internationaltariffs/travelling_abroad

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
OnePlus 6 (O2 & Sfr), Z3 Tablet (Three UK), iPhone 8+ (EE)

@David316 DO NOT use your O2 sim to call the UK from the US. Calls are charged at £2 per minute. Use WhatsApp or Skype over WiFi.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Yes agreed usr WhatsApp as it will use your data. Or Wi-Fi if you find a hotspot.
Leave your candy-colored cans in the toy chest and try a pair of proper headphones.
