What does one require to get a temporary phone as their old phone is collected for repair and when can they go ask for a temporary phone

If you take your phone into an o2 shop to be sent off for repair, you can ask if they have a loan phone available.
That are only basic phones for calls and texts and you are required to pay a refundable deposit of £25
