Scam call?

Hi
I think I just had an automated scam call it was an American accent telling me my router had been compromised and they needed access to it it asked me to press 1 but I hung up anyone else had this?

It's very common and you did the right thing.
Just block the number now.

Very common ~ I have had plenty of them ~ block the number straight away.

Can be they will change their numbers and get through but still have "the same old story"  so be on your guard.

(in fact be on guard for any "old story" !!)

The other give away for a scam / dodgy / sales caller is a 1-2 second delay before anyone speaks. I just put the phone down straight away now and block the number as suggested above.

I've had four automated calls this last week from a finance company and the cheeky s*ds even leave an automated voice mail. How does that happen!

I block all withheld numbers, on the basis if you are not willing to show who you are then I don't want to talk.
Scammers are using generic numbers can show a local code! I leave the answer phone on landline , scammers never leave a message 😃 I tell everyone about scammers and use mobile for all communication. Texts too. Or say leave a message on landline and I'll call back. Works for me.😀
