You could get the email at anytime assuming the device is in stock (O2 website is not live, so could show in stock when not).
You can always call O2 to check the status.

The problem is, O2's ordering system isn't live, so it may not be in stock. If you paid extra for next day delivery, that will be refunded if you request it. If you want to call O2 then the numbers are here.

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:
If you call 202, when it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Also, press Upgrade, Fraud or Lost and Stolen if given that option.
