O2 Recycle Is A SCAM!!!

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to send a warning to anyone thinking of using O2 Recycle.

My situation was I saw the O2 Recycle when thinking of upgrading and when I honestly filled out the recylce valuation, it convinced me to get a new iPhone 7. Anyway, they offered me £214 for my iPhone 6 which was in immaculate condition, with no damage at all. Anyway, I send it off to them and then turn around and say we are not offering £214 anymore, its £40 take it or leave it. They claimed there was damage to the screen, which there isnt. I requested the phone sent back to me and eventually, it turned up. There is no damage to the phone at all. They also decided to throw away the original box I sent with it, so no I cant even sell it.

I am considering cancelling my contract with them as this service is a complete and utter scam.

Interesting word tense ... "has" broken.  Almost as if it happened there when being examined.

When my contract is up I am moving elsewhere because of O2's affiliation with these guys and obvious lack of action to police it some.  Sort it O2!

Oh absolutely. I also thought that was interesting.

I accepted this offer as it was the easiest way to pay my bill. I regret upgrading now because there was absolutely nothing wrong with that phone. Like I say, excellent condition.

I could have sold it for more than O2 were offering but no, I took the stupid route and selected the opportunity to credit my account.

Ehanced my offer to £61 on the phone... I have requested the phone back. Interesting to see what I get.

My whole experience as a long standing customer has been risible.

I await the return of the phone before I elaborate.

My phone has been returned.

There is zero damage.

What is this about?

I have it, in writing, 'Heavy damage to device: Metal casing has broken'.

In my opinion they have tried to defraud me.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

That comes as no surprise @jgc

It will be interesting to see what CEX or Mazuma Mobile offer you?

I don't doubt I will get more at all.

I wouldn't have used O2 but I wanted to credit my account.

What I take exception to is being told it has sustained heavy damage and is actually broken with neither being remotely true and trying to get me to accept a paltry sum on that basis. It's just wrong.
