Hi

I have just received my my sim card on a sim only contract, do I need to change the sim card or can I keep my old one, just seems a waste of time changing the sim and then contacting O2 to keep my old number?

You should be able to keep using the sim card, otherwise you can just do a sim swap via myo2 and the new sim will be activated for you, mine took 10 minutes to do this afternoon.

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

The new sim is for 5g so you only need to activate it if you are in a 5g area and have a 5g capable phone.

If you wish to do this there is a guide here Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
