I took out a new o2 sim only contract recently, and gave an adviser on the app my pac number for my old number from plusnet. They happily took it, and I got a text saying when my number would switch.
Day of the switch, nothing happened.
Called o2, technical issue, no problem, assured it would be sorted soon.
Days and days pass...
o2 then tell me my old number is an o2 number, and ask if I'm the account holder, 4 separate times. They deny I ever made a port request. They say the technical team is looking at it. They ask me for the pac on 6 occassions. They ask me for my address, email. They confused my o2 number for another account.
I've tried help on the app, twitter, call and email. Does anyone have any idea where you can find a competent o2 help adviser, or how I can resolve this, as it looks like my number is lost...

The first part of your comments seem to be pretty similar to what has happened to me. My phone number appears to have been changed to my old Virgin number but no one can reach me on it. Any suggestions about how to by pass all the nonsense you had to go through. I can make outgoing calls ok.
