O2 Travel and O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt Ons

I have both the travel bolt on and the inclusive zone bolt on active on my pay monthly account. I’m travelling to the US, am I right in thinking the o2 inclusive zone bolt on will automatically override the o2 travel bolt on so I don’t have a fixed daily charge when roaming?

Thanks

Hi @ibex82

Yes the Travel Exclusive will be the one which works for you in the US.

Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

Be aware though, roaming speeds in the States (with O2) are pitiful. People find they do better buying a local US sim (AT&T or T Mobile) from any 7:11 store (not the airport)

Also check with O2 before you travel, that there are NO roaming bars on your account.

If you call O2 on 202 or 0344 809 0202 or use O2's social media to help by messaging them on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to check this out.

Enjoy your holiday.

Great advice! Thank you for the tip with a separate sim, I’ll have a look - hoping I can mostly get by with free WiFi (Orlando area) but something to consider.

will also check about the roaming bars.. didn’t realise that was a thing! Thank you

@ibex82 If you're going to try to get by with WiFi, make sure you have WhatsApp or Facetime (if you have an iPhone). Calls and video calls are free anywhere over WiFi if the person you're calling has the app too.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Best to use Wifi wherever you can.

The roaming bars came in about the time Covid did. Travel was restricted, so this was an added piece of security. The bar isn't so prevalent now but always worth checking before you go.

Lucky you, off to the States. I've been 4 times and loved it x
