I would like to upgrade my phone in the near future, but I do not want to be locked into 3 years monthly off payments. bit I can not see any means to make a one off payment for any of the phones.
Advice please.
Terry.

I would rather just make a one payment for the hand set and not set a DD for a hand set and then pay the rest of including the intrest on the outstanding balance.

I would buy my phone from one of the manufacturers, Amazon etc. They all have payment plans. Then you can go SIM only.
I've done that for the past 12 years and saved a fortune

There's no interest on device payments anyway and you can pay off the device in full immediately by calling payment management as above.
The only way to avoid a DD for the handset at all is to look at what you can get on PAYG and then choose a sim only tariff, or just buy the phone you want outright from the manufacturer or Amazon etc.
