I have been charged 26 pound for O2 travel having recently spent time abroad in Hong Kong. However, I did not have my roaming on, nor did I use any data while I was there. These charges do not make sense to me at all. I’d like an explanation as to why this happened and for these charges to be removed from my bill.

If your phone connects to the network in any shape or form you will be charged. (It's not just data)
Calls that go to answerphone will be charged even if no message is left
There are plenty of reasons
Check the itemised bill in MyO2 and if not happy contactc O2, but in the end of the day a Hong Kong network has passed on charges to O2
