text messages on Nokia 6300

Hi everyone.

I just joined 02 a few days ago and was waiting for my number to get transferred to 02 from my previous network.

Whilst I was waiting, my text messages were sending fine and I have a place in my messaging section to check the message status - either 'delivered' or 'pending'. My phone would also flash and make a quick beep if the message was 'delivered' aswell. If it didn't do the aforementioned, it meant the message's status was 'pending'.

However, once my old number came through, any messages I sent were at the status 'pending' even though I knew some of them (including those sent to myself) had been 'delivered'.

I went to my message settings and noted the following:

Message Centre in use: O2 SMS (this has the number +447802000332)

Receive Report: yes

Message validity: 24 hours

Message sent as: text

Preferred Connection: GSM

Reply va same centre: yes

Can anyone please advise? When I had the temporary O2 number, any message sent successfully had the status of 'delivered' whereas now they are all at 'pending'...???

I think you need to switch off the receive report as O2 do not support this. This may be why the , as it's the report pending, not the sent message.
