After receiving a text from one contact, a reply doesn't get sent.

After receiving a text from one contact, a reply doesn't get sent unless I clear out the messages from this one contact. This happens every time a text is received, thus making a text conversation very difficult. All other contacts behave as expected! This issue has only happened in the last couple of months.

We are both on the O2 network.

 

My phone is a Nokia 3.4 running Android 12. All current updates are installed.

His is also a (pre smartphone) Nokia X1-01 and is a few years old. He regularly clears out the message Inbox.

Try using a different message app to see if the issue is app or phone based.

Give O2 a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (Contract) OR 4445 or 0344 809 222 (PAYG)

Thanks your suggestion was spot on! Alternative app was the answer.

Now all I need to find is an Adfree app to replace the one I've just started using, or try and fathom out why the original app started the issue with this one contact. 🤔
