I have bad network coverage at home and want to switch to a device which supports wifi calling so that I can make calls at home. On the O2 website the Huawei P20 Pro is not listed as a device supported by O2 for this functionality. However, I've just spoken to a customer service rep who GUARANTEED me that I would be able to make wifi calls.
Does anyone have any experience with this before I buy?

If you have tweeted O2 and they say it isn't supported ...then it isn't.
@Chris_Kis part of the social media team and may well have been the one who replied.
It's still not showing on the supported list so you may have to wait longer than you are prepared to.

No exactly, hence my question. He went away and made a phone call to check, then guaranteed me it would be ok. He says they might need to update the website.
I was wondering if anyone had a Huawei P20 Pro and was able to confirm that O2 supports this?

Hi everyone, I've just had a really unsatisfying chat with an advisor who, in my opinion, was extremely duplicitous. Only after asking several times in many different ways did I get to the bottom of it. Chat transcript below.

Forgive my ignorance, but is Wi-Fi calling in this sense simply using the same phone call functionality? Or does your device need to be Wi-Fi calling enabled to make calls through WhatsApp, Skype and other such apps? It's not using the carrier's signal, so I wouldn;t have thought, but thought I'd ask anyway
