anybody have any news on the GDR3 up date......really gerring bored with the naff
message alert tones on my lumia 820

This is the only information that is provided so no i'm afraid there is no date yet sorry.
The update was released to manufacturers in September 2013 and a developer preview version was released in October 2013.
Update 3 will launch on with the Nokia Lumia 1520 in early November and current Windows Phone 8 devices will receive the update in the coming months. In addition to the OS update, Nokia devices will also receive the Lumia Black firmware update."

thank you all for the positive feedback, as usual very imformative.
Guess I'm going to have to be a little patient....just why they couldn't include this as a standard feature is beyond me...
