Lumia 950 XL Options now that O2 are not supplying it.

Now that it's confirmed that O2 will not be supplying the Lumia 950 XL, I'm now looking at my options.

If I were to purchase a SIM Free Lumia 950 XL elsewhere would it be able to access all O2 features, like visual voicemail?

The same with purchasing from Carphone Warehouse on O2, will that support visual voicemail?

My final option, and most likely option, is to just leave O2 and go to a network that supports the new flagship XL phone.

Thanks

I would imagine that visual voicemail would only be available if you purchase the phone through O2.

There may be other features that are carrier specific but none come to mind just now

VVM only works with O2 firmware

That's a shame, will there be any other features reliant on firmware?

So far, I can only see Carphone selling the XL with carrier access. So definatley won't have VVM

Nothing else I can think of, just the VVM.

That's not so bad then. I can live with that.

I'll compare the big 3 and see which one works for me, at the moment the EE euro roaming option looks pretty tempting.

You could always re-flash the firmware once you've bought it to O2 firmware to restore VVM

I would doubt there would be an O2 version of the firmware to flash though?
