While I was with Vodafone, my emails arrived on my BB almost instanteously. In fact, though I had Outlook running on my PC for much of the time, refreshing every minute, emails almost invariably hit my BB before Outlook sucked them off the server.
Now I am with O2, I find that emails take between five and ten minutes to arrive on my BB. Obviously, this means that, if I pop out, I have to remember to close down Outlook, otherwise it will delete them from the server long before they sre sent to my BB.
Is there a problem, or is this just normal with O2? Is there a way of increasing the 'refresh' rate so they are sent sooner?

I am having the same problems lately. I have been with o2 a while now. I have not changed any email settings (using gmail). Yet now, it can go hours until I receive an email. When I send an email it usually fails on the first attempt. On the second, it will send and then I will ususally receive emails that were sent hours ago. Is this a BB, o2 or gmail problem??

Well, I spent some time on the phone to Tech Support. The guy tried very hard to be helpful but to no avail. He only had an iPhone but he did talk to a colleague, who was a 'BlackBerry man', but he couldn't help either.
In the end I set the email account up from scratch again (with the same settings) and it is now working fine. Absolutely no idea why.

I've seen this before and have suspected the settings can become corrupt, so re-entering the same ones can often work.
