As you know, I often glaze over and start rocking when I hear about something that Apple is "planning", however, this one made me stop and want to know more.....

What do you think......

Good idea/bad idea?

Necessity/gimmick?

I don't think that we're at the point where wireless headphones are common enough to ditch the jack just yet but if the phone comes with a free set this won't have too much of an impact.

"Apple" and "Free" - two words you will never see used in the same sentence wink

Very innovative. ..not.

You play by Apple's rules and anyone buying into them now are missing out on on freedom of choice. Absolutely awful decision by Apple and no doubt their faithful will willingly buy into it. What next to tempt us?

No need to remove an industry universal connection for mass available peripherals.
Obviously beats with lightning connectors will be coming as well as other brands (after they pay a royalty on the lightning connection)
Sometimes I wonder if apple are that gormless in the new "let's make jobs turn in his grave" era, that they can even keep a straight face when saying they only consider the customer.
