I can remember taking my son to Butlins at Skeggie ... ... ... it suited the both of us ... = ... everything on site ... we went half board. We were in a 1st floor chalet - Happy Times ... ... ... I don't drive ... sooo, it suited us as a single parent family very well ..... we came home on the Friday to avoid the rush on the Saturday ... ... ... We let 'The Train Take The Strain' ... when you could in those days xx

There's an Asda, a Morrisons, a Tesco and a Lidl near there as well so plenty of choice!

We set of just after 11am. nice drive here. just pulled up outside the caravan and it started to rain so a dash to get stuff inside. A nice caravan with a wrapround verandah.

However, as it's been lashing down since we got here, we've stayed in. Watched TV, read and had something to eat.

Tomorrow we'll go exploring (whatever the weather)

Oh and my PC is working well with a Wifi dongle. Also interesting to see a 5G signal here. Don't get that at home.

Nice to relax.....Off to see the sea tomorrow. 😂

So...after looking forward to a few days away, unfortunately we are now back home!

We went out this morning, saw the sea and had fish and chips. Lovely.

Got back to the caravan made a cup of tea and noticed the water was off.

Ray went outside and saw there was a flood under the caravan. Noticed the water pipe had come off.

Knock on the door and the maintence man outside. He'd seen the water pumping out and turned the stopcock off.

I rang the lass who'd organised this caravan and told her what was happening. No water, no heating. She rang the owner who promised to ring and didn't. We decided to pack up and leave. We were loading up the car and the owners son rang. He said he was going to try and get a plumber out. We felt we couldn't risk it.

If no plumber arrived we would be cold thirsty and miserable!

So we left and were home by 6.30pm.

So annoyed. We should have gone in November and had to cancel. Then this happened. Not a happy bunny. 😫

I envisaged you strolling down the prom all weekend

But you're right to come home
