My mum has dementia & last night she rang me demanding a birthday party, her birthday being today didn't leave me much time to organise anything. Then I thought to myself that she won't remember asking me, turning up she'd be swearing at me for making a fuss, accusing me of fibbing about her asking me to do something to celebrate. (one day she will remember & she'll make me pay for it)
She turned up today & never said a word. I made her the usual NATO standard & then went into the kitchen, lit the candles & walked it in.
Her eyes lit up, She genuinely looked like she didn't know it was her birthday/had never seen a cake before in her life, but I couldn't help feeling a little sad that she's slipping away little by little.

What a beautiful picture @Anonymous
Your Mum looks absolutely delighted.
Dementia is such a tragic disease for friends and relatives more than the individual who is suffering with it. As you say, she probably won't remember it tomorrow but you will. That's all that matters

I see that sleazy serial rapist Bill Cosby has been freed on a technicality. Absolutely outrageous..
Doesn't mean he's not guilty, simply one of the prosecutors made minor error.
Makes a mockery of women trying to get justice for being drugged and raped.

I would have thought there is enough evidence against him for further prosecution

I don't think so, this case was the only one brought because the statue of limtitations had passed on all the others, & now this one can't be tried again. So it seems like justice is unable to be served in this case, or others.

True @Anonymous . He can't be tried again. Disgraceful
