I see they are going to pump the dam at Whaley Bridge and filling the gaps in the bridge with tons of aggregate dropped by helicopters. Also efforts are being made to divert the water to other areas, like the golf course

Thinking of the sad picture of elderley people being escorted out of the villlage by the emergency services with all their worldly goods in laundry bags

I wonder what sort of a night they have had & what sort of weekend they will be having 

On a positive note ... I wish all on the community an enjoyable weekend

BBC news said they were allowing residents back for about 15 minutes to collect essentials and see to any animals which have been left behind.

I just hope there is no more rain this weekend....

Well the wind is getting up here in Warwickshire and it rained overnight, so I'm guessing it's going to be a bad day.....

Rained heavy here in Skipton during the night ... my cat Maty was out ... once out and it rains he won't come in ... so ... I'm guessing he has a secret hidey-hole

Forecast is rain from 10am for the rest of the day

I've nothing to go out for ... so ... it's a day of pottering around the house
