Thank you for your reply.  It must have been very upsetting regarding the dressmaking pattern book.

My family did alot of dress making and sewing too the girls really enjoyed it.

With regard to the spot light, no problem mentioning this to me, it's not my kind of thing really.

I may try and get some of those tapes put on again, but as you point out, it is very techy and not

really my field either but I tried and found it laborious, mainly because I do not have the technical equipment to do it properly and therefore its not that good.

Nowadays I am happy to be relaxed all the time!

My mum taught me to sew initially using her electric Singer sewing machine ... there was an old treadle Singer sewing machine (manual) in the garage ... you see the bases with wooden table tops in some of the pubs in town

I can well remember using a pencil to wind back a cassette tape which had got somewhat mangled 

I too am happy to be relaxed about things in general ... well, I try to be ... pensioners priviledge 

It's wonderful that you are joining in Room 101 & Word Association when you can ... the majority of new members are welcomed onto the community & usually we don't hear from them again

Thank you for wishing my mum a Happy Birthday

Mum liked my card to her ... all lilac blooms & purple roses with silver glitter on the front of the card & some nice words from me with plenty of kisses & hearts as well ... 88 today ... one of her carers asked her if she was having a party ... mum is in her twillight years & not much of a public person these days ... she liked the pale pink peony flowers I gave her yesterday ... mum enjoys her quiet life these days ... it was lovely to see her today enjoying, in her own quiet way, her 88th birthday ... she was hoping for some more cards which no doubt will have come in the post and from when my sister would have visited mum later in the day

Stayed at the family of my boyfriend. They had a whole table full of presents for me 🙈 Most for the new flat ^^

We had a BBQ, some bubble-water  

Today we had some cake

And it was the last night in the old flat of my boyfriend (he stays at his mum's til we move in). His old bed was awful...
